Tim Schober has practiced in Victoria throughout his career. Tim is widely recognized in Victoria as a top business lawyer.

Tim acts for many businesspeople and professionals, bringing his extensive experience to bear in sophisticated estate planning (including family trusts, alter ego trusts, spousal trusts, complex wills and powers of attorney), incorporations, corporate re-organizations, business purchases, shareholder agreements, leases, contracts, and enforcement of secured loans.

Tim manages the affairs of well over 100 health professionals with corporate and trust structures. He is also known across British Columbia for creating and maintaining the corporate structures through which numerous physician groups provide services to health authorities.

Tim also has extensive experience in land development and commercial real estate, ranging from corporate matters, disclosure statements, mortgages, leases, joint ventures, legal aspects of land assembly, meeting municipal and provincial requirements, dealing with construction issues and closing sales.

Tim has acted in more than 100 foreclosures, work-outs and realizations, including arranging for a court appointment of a receiver to collect funds secured by personal property security interests, in a manner that maximized both recovery of funds, and the preservation of jobs for almost 100 employees.

Tim works with filmmakers to secure rights, financing (including preparation of chain of title and corporate opinions, and opinions for insurance), and distribution arrangements.

Tim was a guest lecturer and a contributing author to practice manuals for the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, has been a guest instructor in Personal Property Security, Foreclosures and Corporate Law for many years for the Law Society’s Professional Legal Training Course, and has been a sessional lecturer in Real Property at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. Tim is a past director of numerous community and public service organizations, provided pro bono services through the Access Pro Bono Society of British Columbia, and was a long-time volunteer in an inner-city elementary school.

Tim is presently concentrating on his recovery from catastrophic injuries after being struck by a vehicle while cycling. He appreciates other members of the firm caring for his clients while he is rehabbing.
