Sharon Cartmill-Lane provides advice on all aspects of labour and employment law, primarily on behalf of employers, in matters pertaining to human rights, wrongful dismissal litigation, labour arbitrations, illness and disability issues in the workplace, corporate reorganizations, employment standards issues, the development and implementation of employment policies and training on respectful and healthy workplaces. She also regularly conducts and advises on workplace investigations regarding various matters for both public and private sector organizations.
Representing clients in both private and public sectors, Sharon has appeared before the Superior Courts of British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba, as well as before administrative tribunals, including provincial and federal Human Rights Tribunals, labour arbitrators and the Labour Relations Boards of British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba. She regularly speaks on labour and employment matters and has been a guest speaker at numerous events. Sharon was previously a partner of Taylor McCaffrey LLP in Manitoba. She was also a member of a national law firm before joining Taylor McCaffrey. She holds a B.A. (Honours) from the University of Winnipeg, and an M.A. and LL.B. from the University of Manitoba. She has been called to the Bar in B.C., Alberta and Manitoba.
