Cliff arrived on the west coast of Canada fresh off receiving his B.A. at Carleton University in 1988 to enter law school at the University of Victoria, where he graduated in 1991. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1993 and has resided in Victoria ever since.

Cliff brings a varied background of legal experience to his practice. He has acted as Federal Crown Counsel, as well as Counsel for the Director of Ministry of Children and Family Development. He also has extensive experience as an independent insurance adjuster where he handled both bodily injury and property claims.

His preferred areas of practice are civil litigation, including commercial, estate and personal injury matters as well as family law.

Cliff has conducted numerous trials in the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia obtaining successful results for clients at both levels.  His approach to litigation is one of reasonableness and practicality, attempting to work with all parties towards a fair resolution, including the use of mediation and other out of court processes.  However, if that approach is not successful, he is always prepared to proceed to trial.

Cliff has taught at the Professional Legal Training Course and continues to use those skills to lecture his adult children.

When not practicing law Cliff enjoys time with his family, traveling as well as well as playing hockey and ruining a good walk..
