Tim Schober has been practicing law in Victoria since 1980. Tim has excellent negotiation skills and strong organizational\analytical skills.
Tim has extensive experience in sophisticated estate planning (including family trusts, alter ego trusts, spousal trusts, complex wills and powers of attorney), incorporations, corporate re-organizations, business purchases, shareholder agreements, leases, contracts, and enforcement of secured loans.
Tim created and continues to maintain the corporate structures through which several physician groups provide services to health authorities across British Columbia. In addition, Tim has assisted many individual health professionals to incorporate.
Tim has assisted several real estate developers with corporate matters, mortgages, legal aspects of land assembly, meeting municipal requirements, dealing with construction issues, meeting provincial requirements for marketing housing units, and closing sales.
Tim has arranged for a court appointment of a receiver to collect funds secured by personal property security interests, in a manner that maximized both recovery of funds, and preserved jobs for almost 100 employees.
Tim works with filmmakers to secure rights, financing, and to make distribution arrangements.
Tim is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, as well as the Tax, Wills Trusts & Estates, Business Law, Real Estate and Entertainment, Media & Communications subsections of the Canadian Bar Association. He is a guest lecturer and a contributing author to practice manuals for the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, a guest instructor in Personal Property Security for the Professional Legal Training Course, and has been a sessional lecturer in Real Property at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. Tim is a past director of the Rotary Club of Victoria Harbourside, the Board of the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC (and served as treasurer), and several non-profit organizations.
